We, the people of Petal, are on a mission to stop rot, stink and the spread of germs with a revolutionary new appliance that freezes waste to sub-zero temperatures in minutes using less than $1/month of electricity.
Our vision is healthy, clean, and sustainable environments for all. And, we know we can bring it to life.
How? Because our majority female-owned, female-managed team has been bringing life to bold ideas for the past three decades in fields as varied as aerospace engineering, education, social justice, biometrics, art, coffee and…mountain climbing, to name a few.
That’s right. One of our team members has scaled Everest (multiple times) and even created an organization committed to cleaning trash off the slopes of the mountain. Cause, that’s how we do.
We’ve set our sights high with Petal, because reaching for the stars is what started this whole thing to begin with. Two 🚀 scientists, inspired by spaceflight from an early age, spent their careers designing things that can make us fly. With this know-how, they set out on their most audacious project yet — eliminating the stench and neutralizing the germs from poopy diapers.
JK, they knew their invention would have limitless applications, but nothing is quite as icky as human đź’© piled-up, not chilling in the place your baby sleeps and eats, 24/7.
We’ve all got a stake in this, and in one another. Our team doesn’t just pretend to care about each other, we’re a family by choice. We choose to lovingly push each other past our perceived limits.
We choose to execute with excellence (as our CEO and Mr. Mom, David, would say). We choose to put the planet and its people above profit. We choose to embrace each other for our differences.
We could go on, but suffice it to say that everyone on our team is wildly different from one other, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Unified as a crew of rebellious thinkers and close friends, our vision is strong and clear.
